Jodi Barrows is a nationally known quilting
teacher, speaker and writer, currently living in the North Texas area.
Over the past twenty years, Jodi has remarkably touched thousands of
quilters throughout the world with her unique method called Square
in a Square?. Her point of view provides the quilter with the freedom
to create most any quilt design with speed and accuracy.
The Square in a Square system is a process that anyone can implement
in most any design. Jodi has written fourteen books (ten of which have
been on the best seller list), produced four tools, two video/DVD's and
five teacher's books. Additionally, she has a pattern book and fabric
line based on a fiction novel she wrote from the 1865 time period entitled
Leaving Riverton.
Jodi has been commissioned to compose quilts for many state and national
organizations as well as working with the Kansas Historical Society.
She has been active in guilds as well as owning several crafting and
sewing related businesses over the years. Jodi was raised in southwest
Kansas, has 2 grown sons, and is married to Steve, her high school sweetheart.
Bonnie is employed (1994 to present) as Executive Show Director at the American Quilter's Society (AQS), Paducah, Kentucky, where she also writes and edits quilting books. She is the author of nine quilting books, published by the AQS. In addition, she is the editor of the AQS Update newsletter, published six times a year. She has won numerous awards with her quilting, including a third place in the Other Techniques category at the 1986 AQS Quilt Show & Contest, Paducah, Kentucky. That quilt, A Little Bit of Candlewicking, is now in the collection of the Museum of the American Quilter's Society (MAQS). Her philosophy in teaching is to choose a small project to teach a technique that can be used by her students in other quilt projects. She was instrumental in starting the popular Quilt Camp for Kids at the Museum of the American Quilter's Society (MAQS), held each July for children from first through seventh grades.
Kathie Currie
Basket-making has been part of Kathie’s life for the past 20 years. She took her first weaving lessons while living in the Kansas City area. She is now affiliated with the Roycrofters-At-Large Association as a Master Roycroft Artisan.
Priscilla Kibbee
Since she lives in a rural area, Priscilla often needs to look elsewhere for inspiration. During her travels she has taught quilting to school children in Nepal, Seminole Patchwork to dressmakers in Thailand and wearable art to quilters in Turkey. When she returns home, she loves to incorporate all her treasures from exotic foreign markets into her classes and clothing.
Gretchen Lang
Gretchen Lang started quilting in the ‘70s. She loves scrap quilts and promises that you will go home inspired to use your own collection. A teacher that does private classes and also teaches at Hartland and Pine Grove quilt shops, she loves to inspire new and old quilters. Living in Lockport, Gretchen is a member and two-time president of Kenan Quilters and the current president of the Clarence Log Cabin Quilters.
Bonnie Patterson
Bonnie has been quilting for 36 years. Both of her parents were quilters as well as her sister. Her grandmother and mother made rag rugs, so she’s the third generation. She has made well over 100. Bonnie lives in Gasport with her husband, Neil, and their dog, Woody. Her other passion is gardening.
Mary Militello
A quilter since 1992, Mary has been working full-time at Sew What? Quilt Shop for several years and has had her own long-arm business since 2003. She has been teaching at many of the local quilt shops and seminars as well as in PA, MA and NC. Mary says she is very fortunate that she is able to combine her love of quilting and work. She loves to hear quilters come back to the store after taking a class and saying, “I just love the way my quilt has turned out!”
Joyce Morris
Thirty year ago, Joyce began her quilting career by finishing an inherited Grandmother’s Flower Garden which was completed and won the Catherine Oles Award in 1994. Joyce has been sewing since she was a teenager. She is a busy quilter, avid gardener, founder of Twin City Quilters Guild, and a member of the Amherst Museum Guild since the 1970s.
Linda Reinagel
Linda began quilting in 1982 at the suggestion of her mom who had recently taken a class. Over the years She has taken many classes starting with traditional and moving into art quilts which have become her primary interest today. Her quilts have been exhibited locally and nationally.
