Amherst Museum

With great excitement it is my pleasure to inform all Museum friends that Amherst Museum has embraced the opportunity to create a more sustainable, vital and engaging orgainzation in service to the residents of Western New York and beyond

Effective January 1, 2011, Amherst Museum transitioned from a department of the Town of Amherst to a fully independent non-profit organization.

Truly this is a time of great opportunity and great challenges. We are finally in control of our destiny!

Additionally, in 2012 the museum will transition to a new image, and a new name: Buffalo NIagara Heritage Village.

I invite you to become an integral part of the Museum. The new Amherst Museum has a place for you! Whether you want to volunteer to help with public relations, teach a class, lead school tours or create a new fundraiser, we welcome and value your participation.

If you'd like to make a monetary contribution to the Museum, you can do so in person, by mail, or using our secure online service, here, at any time.

Thank you for everything you do to help the Museum keep history alive.
